WHO WE ARE


His Island Outreach (HIO) is a charitable, Christian ministry dedicated to the physical and spiritual empowering of the people of Roatán, Honduras by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to be the human expression of the very heart of God as we serve and care for the poor, oppressed and broken hearted by providing education, health and sustainable income for the local people.

ABOUT OUR ISLAND ROATAN

Roatán is an island in the Caribbean about 40 miles north of the mainland of Honduras. Traditionally the population consist of English speaking Black Caribs who settled here after slavery was banned by Britain. Later the island was ceded to the government of Honduras. As a result, there are a mixture of English and Spanish speakers living here. It is a tropical climate with distinct a distinct rainy season and dry season. The rainy season begins around August and ends around February. The temperature is between 85 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit with high humidity.
